Do I need a device?

No, nothing to wear or connect. Bazu estimates a food's energy from its nutrition, then a few hours later asks how your energy actually is. You are the only sensor involved, and your answer replaces the estimate on that meal.

Your Bazu Score is your last 30 days of meals in one number out of 100. It weighs three things: nutrition (60 points), energy (25) and ingredients (15). A single food gets its own number on the same scale, called a Nutrition Score.

How accurate is the energy read?

The estimate comes from the food's own label by a published formula, so the same food always gets the same answer. That makes it good for comparing two options, not for predicting your day, which is why Bazu asks how you actually felt and lets your answer win.

From USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts and Edamam, plus AI that reads photos and labels. The scoring thresholds follow published standards from the FDA, WHO, AHA, ADA and the National Academies.

Bazu tells you it does not have that product and takes you back to the scanner. Logging it by photo or by name still works, though that gets a generic estimate rather than the exact label.

No. Scanning and scoring happen on Bazu's servers, so you need a connection. The app tells you when you have lost it.

What happens if I edit or delete a meal?

Nothing is lost. An edit keeps the original and moves everything attached onto the corrected version. A delete hides the meal instead of erasing it.

I eat late. Which day does a midnight snack count toward?

The day before. A Bazu day runs 4 AM to 4 AM, so a late meal shows at the time you ate it but counts toward the previous day's streak and score.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No other user can reach it. We never sell it for money. If you allow tracking on the iOS prompt, we share an advertising identifier and standard app events with Meta and TikTok. That is for install attribution, and nothing else. How do I delete my account?

In the app, under account settings. Your account deactivates right away and you have 30 days to get it back by logging in again. After that it is deleted for good.

Is Bazu a medical device?

No. Bazu is a general wellness and education tool. It does not diagnose or treat anything, so take medical decisions to your provider.
